Tree Service, Lawn Care & Pest Control in Plano
Cracked, thirsty grass after a long Texas summer. Mosquitoes that show up the day after every rain. An older red oak with a few too many dead branches creaking overhead. North Texas yards take a beating — and when yours starts to feel run-down, it’s hard to actually enjoy your home.
That’s where we come in. Joshua Tree Experts in Plano handles the full picture: tree care that respects how oaks and elms grow in our heavy clay soil, lawn programs built around the warm-season grasses that actually thrive here, and pest control that keeps fire ants and mosquitoes off your property. Our local crew knows what Plano yards need across every season — from late-winter pre-emergent through the heat of August and into fall cleanup.
Let’s get your yard looking like the one you’ve been picturing.

Helping Plano Residents Care
For Yards They Love
A healthy yard in this part of Collin County comes down to three things: knowing the soil, timing the work to our climate, and using treatments that match what’s actually growing here. We offer full-service tree care, lawn care, and pest control to keep your property healthy, safe, and looking its best year-round.
Certified Tree Services
North Texas trees grow in tough conditions — alkaline blackland-prairie clay, summer drought stress, and the constant threat of oak wilt across our native oak population. Our tree services in Plano include expert tree trimming done at the right time of year — which, for live oaks and red oaks here, matters more than most homeowners realize. We focus on removing weak and crossing limbs, opening up airflow, and protecting your trees from the issues that actually show up in this region.
Your trees should add value to your home, not stress you out. Our ISA-Certified Arborists handle every part of caring for the species we see most in Plano yards — live oak, cedar elm, crape myrtle, and more — including:
-
Tree trimming, timed to avoid oak wilt risk
-
Tree removal
-
Fertilization for alkaline-soil deficiencies like iron chlorosis
- Insect and Disease Management
-
Cabling & bracing for older live oaks and post oaks
-
Storm damage cleanup after Texas thunderstorms and ice events
We’ll keep your trees strong, healthy, and looking great through every Texas season.
Plano Lawn Care Programs
A great Plano lawn isn’t an accident. Bermuda, St. Augustine, and Zoysia each behave differently in our clay soil and summer heat — and what works in May can fall apart by August if the program isn’t dialed in. Our lawn care services are built around the warm-season grasses growing here, the time of year, and what your specific yard is dealing with:
-
Soil testing and custom fertilization (alkaline soil throws nutrient uptake out of balance — testing matters)
-
Aeration to break up compacted clay
-
Pre- and post-emergent weed control timed for North Texas (the first round goes down in late February)
-
Grub and chinch bug management — the two pests that wreck a lawn here
With the right service at the right time, we help your lawn grow thick, green, and healthy. No guesswork; we’ll create results you can see.
Licensed Pest Control Services
Mosquitoes that show up after every rain. Fire ants taking over the yard. Ticks waiting wherever the lawn meets the trees. North Texas pest pressure runs nearly year-round, and a one-time spray won’t keep up with it. Our pest control programs create a real barrier around your property and treat the source, not just what you can see crawling around. Here’s what’s included:
Perimeter barrier treatments around your home’s foundation
Fire ant control and stinging-insect suppression
Mosquito, flea, and tick management (especially important after summer storms)
Seasonal pest monitoring and prevention through every part of the year
You’ll get year-round protection with treatments that actually hold up in our climate.

At Joshua Tree Experts, our trained specialists know Plano’s soil, our climate, our pest pressure, and the species growing in your yard inside and out. There’s a real difference between a national chain rolling through with a generic program and a local team that’s spent years figuring out what works in this part of Texas.
You’ll always know what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and how it’s helping your property thrive. With us, you’ll never get shady upsells or gimmicky lawn hacks — just honest pricing and local service you can count on.

Franchise Owner, Scott Smith
Scott Smith's story comes full circle on the very streets where he learned to ride a bike. A Plano native, Scott spent the last 11 years in Atlanta building his career before returning to his childhood neighborhood.
After earning his marketing degree from the University of Oklahoma, Scott spent 22 years at the leading edge of digital marketing technology, creating data-driven tools and solutions for major brands such as Kellogg, Subway, Verizon, and FanDuel. Yet every evening you were just as likely to find him in his garage building a new piece of furniture or upgrading the landscape.
Scott's return to Plano wasn't just about career—it was about coming home to family. His mother, grandmother, and sisters all remain in the Dallas area, and being close to them while pursuing his entrepreneurial dreams made the decision an easy one. That blend of business acumen, hands-on passion, and deep community roots led Scott to Joshua Tree Experts. He was drawn to a franchisor with two decades of proven success, a robust support network, and a family-first culture that mirrors his own values. "Be prepared" isn't just an echo from his Scouting days—it's the promise he makes to every client and crew member: prepared to deliver best-in-class tree care today, and prepared to stand behind the work tomorrow.
Scott is now building something special to serve Plano, McKinney, Allen, Frisco, and Prosper. His goal is ambitious yet grounded: to build the area's premier tree and plant health care, lawn care, and pest control company from the ground up, leveraging his expertise in digital marketing and project management to create the most seamless customer experience possible. You can spot him strolling the local parks with his rescue pup, Ebby, soaking in the sights and sounds of the community he's proud to call home.
"Great neighborhoods deserve great trees—and great service. That's what we're here to build, from the roots up."
