Tree Services in Delaware, Ohio
Healthy Trees Across Delaware
This is a town where you can drive ten minutes and go from century-old street trees on narrow downtown lots to houses sitting on five acres with a woodlot at the back. Those are different problems entirely. The downtown tree needs careful work in a space with no room; the rural property needs somebody who can tell which of forty trees along the drive are actually a hazard.
Our local crews and ISA-Certified Arborists handle both. The equipment, the access, and the priorities are different on a quarter-acre downtown lot than they are on open acreage, and pretending otherwise is how properties end up with either overpriced work or the wrong work.

Mark R.Tree Service Solutions for Every Situation
Whether you have three trees or thirty, the work divides the same way: reduce risk, keep what is worth keeping, and remove what genuinely has to go. Here is what our crews handle.
Tree Trimming
Deadwood over a driveway and limbs pressing against a roof are the visible problems, but on older trees the structural issues sit higher up where nobody looks. Our tree trimming in Delaware removes deadwood, reduces weight at the ends of overextended limbs, and thins the canopy so wind passes through instead of pushing against it.
Tree Removal & Stump Grinding
Old farmstead trees, storm-broken specimens, and dead ash left over from the borer years all reach the point where removal is the only sensible answer. We do tree removals in Delaware with rigging on tight downtown lots and with more direct methods where there is open room, then grind the stump below grade.
Tree Cabling & Bracing
Big open-grown trees that spent their lives in a yard or a fencerow spread wide and carry long heavy limbs on unions that were never built for that load. Installing cabling and bracing supports those weak points and can add decades to a tree that would otherwise come apart in the first bad ice storm.
Tree Health Programs
Trees under steady stress from drought, compaction, or repeated insect pressure lose ground slowly enough that it is easy to miss, particularly on a property with a lot of trees on it. A seasonal health program puts a certified arborist on site on a regular schedule to spot those changes early and treat the cause rather than the symptom.
Tree Fertilizing
Soil ranges from compacted town ground to heavy clay that holds water badly on the open ground outside of town, and both leave trees short of oxygen and nutrients at root depth. Our deep-root fertilizing treatments place a slow-release feed directly into the root zone below the turf, where the tree can reach it and the lawn cannot take it first.
Insect & Disease Management
Japanese beetles skeletonize leaves through July, bagworms strip evergreen windbreaks, and borers and scale work quietly on anything already weakened. Our pest and disease treatments begin with identifying exactly what is present, because the right product at the wrong time does nothing.
Lightning Protection
On open acreage a large tree standing alone in a field or beside a house is the highest point for a considerable distance, and it is frequently the oldest thing on the property. lightning protection systems route a strike safely to ground through a copper conductor, protecting the tree and the buildings near it.
Arborist Reports
Land transfers, estate settlements, timber and boundary questions, and insurance claims after a storm all tend to require something written by a qualified professional. Our arborist reports document condition, risk, and recommended action in a form that holds up with a lender, an insurer, or a court.

Commercial Tree Care
The university campus, the downtown business district, the industrial park, and the apartment properties all carry trees over places people walk, park, and gather. Our commercial tree service covers inspection cycles, scheduled pruning, removals, and storm response on a timetable that fits how each property operates.
We schedule around academic calendars, business hours, and lot access, and every visit comes with written documentation for your records. For an owner with trees at several addresses, we will build a single plan with one point of contact rather than quoting each site separately.
Emergency Tree Services
Ice storms come through this part of the county hard, and on a rural property a fallen tree can block the only way in or out. Our emergency tree services in Delaware get a crew out to clear the hazard, open the access, and haul the debris away.
Professional Tree Service Throughout Northeast Atlanta
The mix here is unusually broad because the setting is. Downtown streets carry sugar maple, Norway maple, pin oak, and the occasional surviving elm, the campus holds specimen trees planted deliberately over a century and a half, and the countryside runs to white and bur oak, shagbark hickory, black walnut, black cherry, and sycamore along the river and creeks. Old fencerows are full of Osage orange and hackberry left from when the fields were cleared. Pin oaks in town show the yellowing between leaf veins that alkaline soil produces. Ash has been taken out of the woods by emerald ash borer, and dead ash standing along drives and fence lines is brittle enough to be a real hazard.
The ground is mostly dense glacial-till clay with pockets of better-drained ground along the Olentangy and the creeks feeding it. Clay that holds water in spring and then bakes hard in a dry August is difficult on roots either way, and in town a century of compaction makes it worse. Weather here runs a little harder than it does south of the county line: summer straight-line winds crossing open farm ground, ice storms that load long limbs on old open-grown trees, and a spring freeze-thaw cycle that loosens the soil around shallow roots. Our crews prune for wind and ice load ahead of the season rather than cleaning up after it.

Why Homeowners Rely on Joshua Tree Experts
Properties here range from a town lot to a working farm, and the standards are the same on both. Here is what we hold to.
ISA-Certified Professionals
A certified arborist evaluates the property and writes the recommendation. On a place with a lot of trees that usually means a much shorter work list than you expected, sorted by priority, rather than a blanket estimate covering everything standing.
Local Experts Serving Delaware Properties
Our crews work in town and out in the county every week, and they know which species are struggling on which ground and how ice storms tend to come through. That means accurate assessments and fewer surprises once the work begins.
Honest Pricing Without Surprises
You get a written scope and price before anything starts, including cleanup and haul-off. If something turns out different from what we bid once the work is underway, we stop and talk it over with you rather than adding it to the invoice afterward.

Talk With a Delaware Tree Service Expert Today
If you are looking at a tree, or forty of them, and cannot tell what is a real problem, the fastest way to find out is to have somebody walk the property with you. We will sort it into urgent, soon, and leave it alone, and hand you a written plan and price. The visit costs nothing and ends whenever you want it to.
Beyond Tree Care Services
The same local team can care for the ground around the trees. Both programs launch with the new location.
Lawn Care (Coming Soon)
Lawns on heavy clay here go to crabgrass in the thin spots each spring and struggle to hold color through a dry stretch. Lawn care in Delaware is coming soon and will cover fertilization, weed control, grub treatment, and fall aeration with overseeding.
Pest Control (Coming Soon)
Properties bordering woods, creeks, and open fields keep ticks and mosquitoes close to the house, and ants and wasps work the foundation and eaves all season. Pest control treatments in Delaware are coming soon and stay exterior and perimeter only.
Answers to Common Tree Care Questions
Do I Need a Permit to Remove a Tree in Delaware?
+
It depends on whether you are inside the city or out in the township. Within the city, street trees in the right of way are municipal and require approval, and there are provisions covering removals and replacement. Out in the townships the rules are much lighter on private ground, though subdivisions there often carry association requirements, and properties near the river or in floodplain can have additional restrictions. We check what applies to your address before scheduling.
How Much Does it Cost to Remove a Tree?
+
Size matters, and access matters at least as much. A large tree in an open field where a truck and a chipper can pull right up is a very different job from the same tree behind a downtown house with a garage in the way. Stump grinding, debris haul-off, distance from the road, and whether a lift or crane is needed all move the number. Every site is different, so an on-site look is the only way to get an exact price, and we will explain it.
What Are the Benefits of Tree Trimming?
+
Pruning is mostly about preventing failures. Taking out deadwood, thinning a dense canopy, and correcting competing leaders removes the limbs most likely to break under ice and reduces the surface the wind pushes against. It also improves light and airflow through the canopy, which helps with the fungal problems that appear in humid summers. On a rural property it also keeps limbs off the drive and the outbuildings, which is worth something on its own.
How Often Should I Trim My Trees?
+
Three to five years suits most mature shade trees. Young trees do better with lighter attention every two to three years while their structure is still forming, because correcting form early costs a fraction of correcting it late. Trees over a house, a drive, or a barn generally want a shorter interval. On a property with many trees, an arborist can group them and set different cycles rather than treating everything the same.
What Time of Year is Best to Prune My Trees?
+
Late winter, before bud break, is the best window for most species here. The structure is visible with the leaves off, the tree responds with vigorous spring growth, and the insects and fungi that carry disease into fresh cuts are dormant. Oaks are the important case, and with as much oak as there is in this county they should only be pruned during dormancy, since the beetles that spread oak wilt are active in the growing season. Hazardous limbs come out whenever you find them.
What Does Tree Fertilizing Include?
+
We start by working out what the tree is actually short of, because on heavy clay the limiting factor is frequently drainage and oxygen rather than a missing nutrient. A deep-root application injects slow-release fertilizer into the root zone below the turf, where tree roots reach it and the lawn does not intercept it first, and the injection helps open tight soil. Where a particular deficiency is in play, such as the iron chlorosis common in pin oaks on alkaline ground, we treat that specifically.
Why Do My Trees Need Cabling?
+
Cabling supports a structural weakness that pruning cannot fix. The typical case is two stems of similar size joined at a tight angle, with bark trapped in the union so the connection stays weak, and old open-grown yard and fencerow trees are full of them. A heavy ice load or a hard gust splits the tree at that point, usually taking half of it down. A cable installed high in the canopy limits how far the stems can move apart and takes the peak load off the union. It costs far less than losing a mature tree, and the hardware is inspected on a regular cycle.
